Energy awareness and hygiene are fabulous for helping create safe-enough spaces for SSE clients
to experience profound healing, and at supporting practitioners in maintaining healthy
boundaries, attuning to clients, and feeling energized throughout sessions, rather than depleted.
Melody will share how she uses energy practices in general energy clearing and hygiene,
personal energetic boundary management, and session space clearing before and after sessions.
She’ll share examples of how energy awareness enhances the sessions she offers, and provide
resources for learning more about working consciously with energy.
Melody Joyce
Melody Joyce is a Certified Somatic Sex Educator, Sexological Bodyworker and NeuroAffective
Touch practitioner in training, living near Nyack, NY. She is passionate about helping people lead
happier, healthier lives through the safe exploration of embodiment and pleasure. Melody is
currently the Secretary for the SSEA.
She is empathic, energy sensitive and neurodivergent. Through her studies and practice of
energy awareness, including Reiki and Healing Touch, her capacity to support clients in healing
through attuned caring presence and pleasure is greatly enhanced. Melody is further nourished
and delighted by quality time with supportive, loving friends, music, walks in nature, exploring,
sexual healing and play, and her two beloved cats.

Karey (she/her) is a Somatic Sex Educator with a Certificate in Sexological Bodywork, and practitioner with a thriving practice in the Pacific Northwest. Karey's additional certifications/training include but are not limited to: A graduate of Barbara Carellas' Urban Tantra for Professionals training program, Erospirit certified intimacy coach, Coach Training Alliance certified coach, and Reiki Master.
Karey is in her 3rd year serving on the board of the SSEA, currently as VP.
