Webinar Details

Caffyn describes “Welcome Home” as a principle and a practice underlying all their work and play. In a Welcome Home ritual, we invite a problematic part of ourselves to come home. We co-create an embodied welcome and dialogue with the unwanted part. An experience of having “hard to hold” parts welcomed can help us integrate these parts, deepening capacity for intimacy, and self-intimacy. We don’t have to leave parts of ourselves out of relationship, because they need to be hidden, or fixed. In this webinar, Caffyn Jesse will describe and demonstrate a “Welcome Home” ritual with colleagues West and Noah Klöze.

West (they/them) is a SSE student in CC5. They are also a sex worker, and a community cook. West can often be found making a brilliant mess in the kitchen, laying on the floor with their dog or telling stories on the phone. Right now they are particularly excited about how SSE can be in service to the communities they are a part of with a lens of harm reduction, disability justice and creativity as way towards joyful survival.
