Somatic sex education and psychedelic medicines are two very different practices that both feel
transformative, and counternormative. Medicines and erotic bodywork engage the same
neuroendocrine system. Can these two realms be woven together in ethical ways? What
conditions would need to be met, for right use of mind-altering substances during the careful
practices of client empowerment that characterize somatic sex education?
Caffyn will talk with several seasoned practitioners of somatic sex education who have explored integrating psychedelics into their offerings, as each describes their particular approach to weaving these two worlds. The ethical quagmire will be explored with Somatic Sex Educator tracy montgomery and Caffyn and tracy will invite dialogue with those attending.
Caffyn Jesse
Caffyn Jesse is a sacred intimate, teacher and writer who revels in the power and pleasures of the erotic. They have retired from a longtime role as a teacher of somatic sex education. Current offerings include online programs on the Art and Science of Sacred Intimacy, and a year long journey of Ecstatic Belonging that integrates psychedelics and somatics. She is the author of many books, including Love and Death in a Queer Universe, Intimacy Educator, Science for Sexual Happiness, and Elements of Intimacy. They have researched and written on neurobiology, generative conflict, healing trauma with pleasure, pelvic pain, and queer belonging.
