Webinar Details

Somatic Sex Educators utilize many different models for their work, from solo practice to working collaboratively with partners/spouses, to forming collectives and integrative plans of care with other practitioners. In this webinar, we’ll hear from a panel of three Somatic Sex Educators who have engaged in creative models of practice, including their learnings along the way, their celebrations and their recommendations both for those new to the field and for those seeking to create greater networks of community. The panel will be moderated by Captain Snowdon.

Katie Spataro

Katie Spataro is a Somatic Sex Educator and Full Spectrum Doula. She is an organizing member of the Seattle Sexological Bodyworkers, an expanding group of local practitioners who gather regularly to offer peer support, skill share and professional community within our unique field of practice. She is also a member of the emerging Heart Collective, a social justice healing arts collective bringing together somatic sex educators and mental health therapists.

Christiane Pelmas

Christiane Pelmas is a certified somatic sex educator, a therapist, teacher, guide and writer. She has authored ‘Trauma: A Guide to Working With Body and Soul’ and ‘Women’s Wisdom: A Guidebook & Card Deck’. She supervises practitioners in myriad healing and wellness fields around the world, and is focused on exploring, identifying and teaching about the elements of healthy, diverse human community within an ailing and uncertain world. She is the founder of The Institute for Erotic Intelligence, which is currently developing curriculum for a professional training that deepens our skill level and capacity to be guides for humanity’s current crisis of belonging and wellness, into a more embedded and generative presence on Earth. One of the core teachings of this new professional modality is a focus on what she calls the ‘communal model’: the practice of weaving webs of care across modalities and diverse practitioners to hold clients, couples and families with more wholistic, integrative, intelligent and successful healing and wholing plans.
