With Ailsa Keppie
Hosted By Tracy Montgomery
The pelvis is often described as the keystone of the body, and this metaphorical understanding gives us insight into this area. In the pelvis we have the meeting and crossing over of the upper and lower halves as well as the right and left sides of the body. In the pelvis everything mixes together, and the energies and tissues are transmuted and transferred to other parts of our Selves. I use the term Self here because so much of who we are resides in this intimate relationship with our pelvis and everything that is housed in this part of us. An understanding of anatomy and function from many modalities is helpful to our ability to work effectively in this area.
Our centre of gravity, our grounding space, our holy grail, our creative centre; many of these terms have been used to help us get in touch with our pelvis and its secrets. In this webinar Ailsa guides us to observe the pelvis as the key to a larger structure, to see how the pelvis both responds to and guides our body experience.
Specifically using a penis-bearing, male identified model, we will look at the pelvis as it is held in the posture of the body, both before and after hands on bodywork. Ailsa uses Myofascial techniques along with structural integration, stretching and strengthening, and specific compressions and massage techniques to facilitate change and choice in the pelvis.
The webinar will include video footage of Ailsa working and time for discussion and questions.
